We went to the Utah State Fair last Friday night. Anna and Griffin chose to spend their money on a ferris wheel ride and Zachary chose to spend his climbing the rock wall (he climbed to the top both times!). It was your standard carny with lots of loud music and people with no teeth, startling tattoos and unusual underwear. We enjoyed the animals and a nice picnic in the shade. The highlight, really, was the rodeo. There is something so American and moving about cowboys and cowgirls and a Sheriff's posse at dusk listening to the National Anthem. Griffin was one of ten kids selected for the mutton bustin'! Of course they didn't have a helmet that would adequately fit his head, but we perched one on top. He stayed on his sheep for about 3 seconds, and earned a belt buckle. Griffin thought it was "too fast!" but what great, delightful fun!

That really looks awesome! I don't think I got on my first rock climbing wall until I was on a date at age 16 or 17. As for a rodeo that would have been within the last year or two. I am amazed at how awesome your kid's upbringing is. Mine was good I mean look at how great I turned out! I love you and your cute fam!
We cracked up when we heard about Griffin riding the Mutton! You guys are just a Mutton Bustin' Family! Anna however is and always will be the Mutton Bustin' Queen, she rocks! Love you guys.
You guys are always having the best time. I can't believe Griffin did that. Wow what a great sport and sooo brave. You family is growing up so fast. Zachary looked like a teeenager up there. Glad all is going well. We miss you and our great home teacher. Hope to pass through soon.
